Turbine Boxes and Coatings
Turbine components are usually assembled inside a frame or a box, with an easy opening upper part, in order to help inspections and substitutions. Internal surfaces are wear resistant coated with either protections or plates. Those components suffer normal operating wear and must be changed before hole emergence, otherwise frame will support heavy damage by abrasive flow. Protection edges close to the turbine wheel should not have an above 20 mm wear, therefore avoiding abnormal usage at other frame points.
